You seriously threw them away? If you still have those broken ones, I'll take them off your hands.

Guess you missed my point, you could have had them replaced and then sold the new set. MagPul is good that way.

All said and told it's a BACKUP Iron Sight.. not primary. I can't talk from a point of personal experience with the MBUIS, I run Troy sights on all of my AR's, but I wouldn't have an issue with running the MBUIS simply based on anecdotal evidence. Given MagPul's significant and diverse customer base, if there is an issue with the MBUIS as an over all product to the degree you're indicating, it would have the children at BARFCOM and many of the more active folks at places like M4 and LightFighter raising a serious stink. To my knowledge, no such mass concern has arisen.

But hey your mileage may vary

You are correct, it was a guess.....you don't know what I do or where I deploy to. Aside from that it doesn't matter where you are; if your life is on the line, waiting in line at the PX in Baghdad or in downtown Denver, it's still on the line.

Sorry, If I wouldn't trust them than I will not give them to someone else to fail on. Besides, they ended up in a dumpster. Crap is crap, regardless of who's rifle its on.

I just don't like them. Yes, even good equipment breaks from time to time; but I've broken every set of these that I've bought (within minutes). Their other products are virtually indestructable, but the sights aren't worth the money in my opinion.

This is coming from the same guy that says it's okay to use birdshot as a defensive round.

I understand they are made of polymer (plastic) whatever. As for using "plastic" parts on your AR.....buttstock and grip are also plastic...as are various quality AR components these days....good luck effectively using your rifle if any other plastic part on your rifle breaks...handguards, grip, buttstock...

Actually, in the confines of an average house birdshot works just fine. You fire a round of birdshot at someone 21 feet away, it's still traveling in a solid column when it hits them....like a freight train. The nice thing is, it won't go through too much because once it starts to all those small pellets will start losing their energy. Less of an overpenetration issue than pistol ammo. I have a couple boxes of the super short Aguilas using birdshot to go in my 590 for home use. This is with a 12 gauge, mind you, not a .410.

If I could only have a 12 gauge shotgun with birdshot for home defense, I wouldn't feel undergunned.

I only have one set of the Magpul MBUIS's, but they seem functional. They don't look like they'd take much abuse, but I try not to abuse my guns anyhow. I don't like them as much as my Yankee Hill fronts and MI lo pro rears, though.
